Symptoms & Temperature Checks

Parents are required to check their student for COVID-19 symptoms before sending them to school.

If students do not have a fever or other symptoms they may attend school.

If your student is exhibiting one or more of the following symptoms, keep them home:

  • fever of more than 100.4º F

  • Sore throat, runny nose, congestion

  • New frequent, dry cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Diarrhea, vomiting

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • New onset of headache

  • Fatigue or muscle or body aches

  • You should also keep your student home if they have recently been in close contact with anyone who has exhibited any of these symptoms or anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Call the attendance office to report your student's absence or enter it on ParentVue. If your student tests positive for COVID-19, please call the school.

Morning Arrival Procedures

Arrival Procedures

  • When a student arrives they must scan the QR code that is posted outside of the entry points.
  • Before students arrive on campus, parents should ensure that the student is symptom free and complete the APS Student Daily Questionnaire
  • Students must exit vehicles wearing their masks.
  • Teachers will be near their classroom doors reminding students to use hand sanitizer, ensuring masks are worn correctly, and monitoring students for visible symptoms.

  • Students arriving late must follow all mask and social distancing guidelines and report directly to class.

Bus Entry

  • Students are required to wear a mask properly while on the bus.
  • Drop off time is 7 to 7:20 a.m.
  • Students must exit the bus wearing their masks.
  • Students must walk socially distanced and may pick up a grab & go breakfast if they choose.
  • Teachers will be near their classroom doors reminding students to use hand sanitizer, ensuring masks are worn, and monitoring students for visible symptoms.

According to the APS Reentry Transportation Guidelines

  • Buses will run at no more than 50 percent of capacity
  • No more than two students per seat for regular size buses, one per seat on smaller busses.
  • Siblings may sit together
  • Drivers and riders must wear mask at all times
  • Buses will be deep cleaned every night
  • If a child is exhibiting symptoms they will not be allowed to ride the bus opportunity
