Welcome to the Senior Information Center. On this page you will find all the information about the VVHS Senior Class of 2025. We will have important information about Cap and Gowns, Graduation and other relevant information for the Class of 2025. Congratulations on your accomplishment!

Class of 2025 Graduating Seniors:
MAY 21- COMMENCEMENT AT TINGLEY COLISEUM, 9:30 AM
The Graduation ceremony is a privilege not a right.
Graduation is the end of high school and the beginning of a promising future. Graduation marks achievement. We are especially excited to honor the fourteenth graduating class of Volcano Vista High School. The Commencement Ceremony is an academic celebration of academic achievement. The young people taking part in Volcano Vista’s Commencement Ceremony have succeeded. You have every right to be proud of them! We are!
•The best demonstration of your pride is to honor all graduates with respect.
•Please leave your air horns, loud noise makers, balloons, signs, etc. at home for personal celebrations later!
IMPORTANT DATES:
Early May: AP Testing
May 1, 2025 6:30pm-8:30pm: Senior Picnic & Yearbook distribution (Underclassmen Yearbook Distribution will begin 5/2)
May TBD - Final Exams-
May 15th - 9:00 am MANDATORY Honors/Graduation practice for all graduates
May 15th - 10:00 am Cap & Gown distribution-All fines must be paid.
May 16th- 11:00 Grad Walks- begin at VVHS, and go to feeders
May 19th 6:30 - Honors & Robing Ceremony. Seniors report at 5:00 pm to the Gym
May 21st- 9:30am Commencement Ceremony at Tingley Coliseum (grads report at 7:30)
SENIOR HONORS ASSEMBLY PRACTICE
• May 15th 9:00am in the Main Gym at VVHS .
•All graduates planning to go through Commencement Ceremonies must attend the honors assembly practice.
CAP & GOWN DISTRIBUTION
•May 15th, from 10:00-11:00.
•In the interest of serving seniors as efficiently as possible only those seniors who do not have fines will be able to pick up their cap and gown.
•ONLY the graduating senior may pick up their own cap & gown.
SENIOR HONORS ASSEMBLY
•Monday, May 19th in the main gym.
•Senior reporting time is 5:00 pm.

Seniors are to be dressed appropriately, and in cap & gown. We will practice for graduation and the Honors Assembly. Please park in the student parking lot.
•Senior Honors Assembly will begin at 6:30 pm.
•The seniors will have a formal recessional from the main gym.
•Families are welcome to attend, but please keep in mind that space is limited to a first come, first served basis.
Graduates who intend to participate in the Commencement Ceremony MUST attend the Practice and the Senior Honors & Robing Ceremony.
COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
•Tuesday, May 21st, 9:30 am at Tingley Coliseum.
•Graduates are reminded to come dressed appropriately, and NOT to carry anything in their hands. (Do not carry keys, flowers, purses, cameras, cell phones, etc.)
DIPLOMAS

During the Commencement Ceremony graduates will receive a diploma cover.

Diplomas will be distributed by the Volcano Vista Faculty as graduates exit.

Volcano Vista High School reserves the right to hold a graduate’s diploma if the graduate chooses to not participate in the decorum and dignity of the ceremony.

NON-GRADUATES
-
Seniors not meeting graduation requirements will be notified by their counselor and/or grade level principal. Parents will also be notified.

Only seniors meeting all graduation requirements may participate in commencement ceremonies.

All seniors must pay any fines owed.

Refunds on cap and gown for non-graduating seniors will be available after May 22ND at Campus Specialties 3107 Eubank NE - Phone Number (505) 275-9357
FINES
-
It is your responsibility to keep track of any fine owed to Volcano Vista High School and to clear that fine either with Mrs. Crouch in the Library OR Mrs. Garcia in the main office promptly.

A SENIOR CANNOT PICK UP THEIR CAP & GOWN WITHOUT PRIOR CLEARANCE OF ALL FINES.
NON - PARTICIPANTS
•Seniors who do not wish to participate in the Commencement Ceremony of Volcano Vista High School may exercise this right.
•Please complete a Right of Refusal form in the Activities Office by April 19, 2025. These graduates need to make their own arrangements to pick up their diploma from the school after May 23.
HONOR CORDS & SPECIALTY STOLES
•ONLY honor cords and medals received as part of the senior honors assembly are allowed to be worn on the gown at commencement. (Stage guests will wear officer stoles provided by the Activities Office)
•NO OTHER DECORATIONS INCLUDING FLOWERS ARE ALLOWED TO BE WORN ON THE CAP OR GOWN AT COMMENCEMENT!!!
•All 2025 Graduates must have a cap and gown. If you still have not ordered a cap and gown, don’t delay -- go to Campus Specialties today!!!

Keynotes

Commencement Ceremony and Honors and Robing Ceremony speakers will be determined and approved by both Mr. Woods (Activities Director) and the VVHS administrative team.

All speeches will be submitted to the Principal for final approval prior to the event

PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICES: GRADIMAGES
-
GradImages has exclusive rights to providing photography services for all APS graduation ceremonies.
-
Graduates who voluntarily provide GradImages with contact information will be sent a passport‐sized photo proof within a week of the graduation ceremony with an opportunity to select from a variety of photo packages with no obligation to purchase. Seniors will be given the chance to fill out these cards at the senior meeting in March. Cards will also be available in the Activities Office.

APS has allotted all high schools 75 minutes for all commencement ceremonies. We anticipate that the ceremony will be completed by 10:45.

Hello VVHS parents,
Online yearbook sales will be closing on April 20th. After 4/20 sales will be cash or money order only until we sell out.
Yearbooks are sold on a first come first serve basis, and if we sell out online prior to 4/20 sales will close with the sellout. Please ensure your student's book is ready for them by pre ordering today.
